True, but who wants to be King? It's more fun to be handsomely rewarded and let other people do the governing. Though Bard didn't seem much into fun.

true! I love it that in The Hobbit, the dragonslayer is not the protagonist, and is not even a young, handsome heroic type; he's a pessimistic, slightly paranoid middle-aged grouch who just knew what needed to be done and did it. :D
