A birthday present for my friend Bess. She's a spiffy writer, a great reader, and an amazing poet. So this is her, reading, and the room is coming alive around her. The grey spots are actually silver paint, but of course that doesn't scan well.
You've gotta fullview; I went gangbusters on details.

I like this one! The glow from the candles, the way her hair and clothing drape about her, the fish swimming onto the wall... All very nice.
