Artist's Comments

Been working on this for around 3 hours a week since the beginning of September, and I'm going to be casting it in plaster soon.
When I took these pictures this afternoon, in the studio with Abby there, I was aware that something is "off"; now, in my room and looking at these pictures again, only now do I see the eight million particular things that I'd like to change. Not sure whether I'll have time to do so, but there you have it.
This has been quite fun. Abby is very nice to let me try this :)

*EDIT*
I went back and slimmed the jaw a little, built up the forehead a little, softened the bridge of the nose, added some flesh under the jaw, added more hair further down the back of the neck, softened the lips a tad and smoothed the face all over as much as the clay - rather dry by this point - would allow. THEN I REALIZED: the entire head is slightly crooked, so that when you look straight at the face, her left ear is not as visible as her right ear although both are the same depth from the side of the head. AUGH. I think it's going to bother me forever.
But I really need to just ... stop ... obsessing ... I will throw a photo of the finished product up here eventually.

*EDIT* I have only just now realized that there are at least two structures missing from the ears. *sigh*

Fun stuff. I remember you talking about this earlier, it looks like it turned out pretty good.

You're right that there's something off, but I can't quite tell what... I wanna say the nose, but that's just me.

Whatever. It looks very nice though. Are you going to send this into project Eve?

chin, bridge of the nose, forehead depth, width of jaw ... eh.
I hadn't thought of project eve. I totally should though.

SUCH a beautiful girl. She has great skin and such a classic look. Good job on trying to capture her.

Pleeeease post the finished product. Are you going to paint it?

'Tis beautiful, and has a very interesting stylized look, especially around the brow. I think it looks most like her in the top picture.

thanks! yeah, she's pretty :P
I doubt i'll be painting it - it's for a class, and we're just supposed to make a plaster cast and move on. But it did cross my mind!
